In a surprising collaboration that defies conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret group.

The mission focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses

The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Content

Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with several items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique implements
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Update

This patch also brings the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This signifies hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series previously included a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
